1. Who we are

ECOVIS JRB Chartered Accountants ("ECOVIS JRB," "we," "us," "our") is a UAE-based professional services firm providing audit, tax, accounting, compliance and advisory services. We are a member firm of ECOVIS International.

2. What this policy covers

This policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard personal data when you visit our website at ecovisjrb.ae, contact us through any channel, engage us for professional services, or otherwise interact with us. It is intended to comply with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), GDPR where applicable, and any other relevant data protection laws.

3. What we collect

3.1 Information you give us directly

• Contact details — name, email address, phone number, company name and role when you complete a contact form, request a consultation, send us an email or call us.
• Business information — information about your business that you share with us when discussing potential engagements.
• Engagement information — once we are engaged, the financial, regulatory and operational information you share with us in the course of the engagement.
• Recruitment information — if you apply for a role at ECOVIS JRB, CVs, cover letters, references and any other information you share with us.

3.2 Information we collect automatically

• Usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time on page and referral source.
• Cookies — essential cookies that make the site work, and (with your consent) analytics cookies that help us understand site usage.

4. Why we collect it

• To respond to your enquiries and provide the services you've requested.
• To perform our contractual obligations once we are engaged for professional services.
• To meet our legal and regulatory obligations (record-keeping, tax filings, AML/CFT requirements).
• To process recruitment applications.
• To improve our website and services through aggregated analytics.
• To send you occasional updates about our services and insights — only if you've opted in.

5. How we share it

We do not sell your personal data to anyone. We may share it with:

• ECOVIS International member firms — when your engagement involves cross-border work and you have authorised it.
• Service providers — IT hosting, email, CRM and accounting platform providers acting under written confidentiality and data protection terms.
• Regulators and authorities — where required by law (FTA, CBUAE, DFSA, FSRA, SCA, MoE, FIU and similar).
• Professional advisors — our own lawyers, auditors and insurers, only when necessary.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations. For engagement files, this is typically a minimum of seven years from the end of the engagement, in line with UAE record-keeping requirements. Contact form submissions are retained for two years.

7. Your rights

Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law and (where applicable) GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Delete data we no longer need to retain.
• Object to processing or restrict it in certain circumstances.
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office or relevant supervisory authority.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data — including encryption, access controls, secure document portals and regular review of our security practices. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.

9. International transfers

Some of our service providers and ECOVIS International member firms are based outside the UAE. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we do so under appropriate safeguards (such as written data protection agreements with adequate clauses, or transfer to jurisdictions with adequate protection).

10. Cookies and analytics tools

We use a small set of essential cookies to make the site work. With your explicit consent (given through the cookie banner shown on your first visit), we also use the following analytics and marketing tools:

• Google Analytics 4 — measures site usage (pages visited, session duration, traffic sources). Data retained for 14 months. Google privacy policy.
• Microsoft Clarity — anonymised session recordings and heatmaps that help us understand how visitors interact with the site. No PII is captured. Data retained for 1 year. Microsoft privacy statement.
• LinkedIn Insight Tag — measures the effectiveness of LinkedIn advertising campaigns and enables retargeting. LinkedIn privacy policy.

If you decline analytics cookies, none of the tools above will load. You can change your choice anytime via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page, or by clearing your browser cookies for this site.

11. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through a banner on the website.
