Our Approvals

Approved across every major UAE free zone.

Every UAE free zone maintains a list of approved auditors — only firms on that list can sign off on the annual financial statements of companies registered in that zone. ECOVIS JRB is registered with all of the following:

DMCC
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre

The world's largest free zone by registered companies. All DMCC-registered businesses must submit audited financial statements annually to the DMCC Authority, prepared by an auditor on the approved panel.

JAFZA
Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority

One of the UAE's oldest and largest free zones. JAFZA companies are required to file audited accounts with JAFZA annually as part of their licence renewal process.

ADGM
Abu Dhabi Global Market

ADGM-registered entities, including SPVs, holding companies, family offices and regulated firms, require audited financial statements under ADGM's registration requirements.

DIFC
Dubai International Financial Centre

DIFC-registered entities must appoint an auditor registered with the DIFC Registrar of Companies. We are registered and experienced with DIFC's specific reporting requirements.

DAFZA
Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority

DAFZA companies are required to submit annual audited financial statements prepared by an approved auditor to the free zone authority.

RAKEZ
Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone

RAKEZ is one of the UAE's fastest-growing free zones, hosting over 14,000 businesses. ECOVIS JRB is an approved auditor for all RAKEZ-registered entities.

SAIF Zone
Sharjah Airport International Free Zone

SAIF Zone requires companies to submit audited financial statements annually. ECOVIS JRB's Sharjah office is well-positioned to serve SAIF Zone clients.

DDA & Others
Dubai Design District + More

We are also approved for DDA, Dubai South, Hamriyah Free Zone, IFZA, KIZAD and other UAE free zones. Contact us to confirm approval for your specific free zone.

Why it matters

Your free zone requires an approved auditor. Not just any auditor.

UAE free zones operate strict approved auditor panels. Engaging an auditor who is not on your free zone's approved list means your audit report will not be accepted — putting your trade licence renewal at risk and potentially exposing you to penalties.

ECOVIS JRB has maintained its approved status across all major free zones consistently — giving clients the certainty that their audit will be accepted without question.

Fast Turnaround

We understand free zone deadlines. Audits completed with enough time for you to review, respond and submit before your licence renewal date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Free zone audit questions answered.

Does my DMCC company need an annual audit?
Yes. All DMCC member companies must submit audited financial statements to the DMCC Authority annually, prepared by an auditor on the DMCC approved panel. The deadline is 30 June each year. Failure to submit can result in penalties of up to AED 5,000 and rejection of your licence renewal.
How do I know if an auditor is approved by my free zone?
Each free zone publishes a list of approved auditors on their member portal or website. You can also ask your auditor to confirm their approval status in writing. ECOVIS JRB can confirm our approved status for any specific free zone on request.
What happens if I use a non-approved auditor?
Your audit report will not be accepted by the free zone authority, which means you cannot renew your trade licence. You would then need to engage an approved auditor and repeat the audit — incurring additional cost and risking a lapse in your licence.
When should I appoint my auditor?
Best practice is to appoint your auditor 2–3 months before your free zone's submission deadline. For DMCC this means by April at the latest for a 30 June deadline. Appointing early gives the auditor time to plan, request documents and complete fieldwork without a rush.
Do I need an audit if my company had no activity?
In most UAE free zones, yes — even dormant companies are required to submit audited financial statements. The audit of a dormant company is straightforward and typically lower cost, but it is still a mandatory requirement for most free zone licence renewals.
